Mount Snow Celebrates Earliest Opening Day in 64-Year History

Mount Snow, which was recently named Best Snow and Best Grooming in The East by Ski Magazine, officially opened this morning as lifts began spinning at 8:00 a.m., marking the earliest opening day in its 64-year history.

"It's always a great feeling on opening day to see so many familiar faces lined up and ready to take their first turns of the season," said Erik Barnes, vice president & general manager of Mount Snow. "We're thrilled to be celebrating the earliest opening in our 64-year history, which was made possible by the hard work of all of our teams and the most powerful snowmaking system in the Northeast. It's going to be a great year here at Mount Snow."

Mount Snow opened this morning with five trails on two mountain faces, including top-to-bottom skiing and riding on its Main Face. With hundreds lined up even before lifts started to spin, including some arriving in the early hours of the morning to ensure that coveted first chair, the pent-up demand to get back on the slopes was evident.

Mount Snow will start the '18/19 season with weekends-only operations, before welcoming guests seven days a week at a date to be announced in the coming future.
