APPENDIX I

Description of new services and features for 2018-2019

les Sommets

Long-term snowboard rental program – Visitors can now rent snowboard equipment for the entire season for kids between the ages of 3 and 9; the new program starts on October 5, 2018. Starting December 22, the same terms will also be available at versant Avila. This new program allows kids to use new or nearly-new boards and enjoy the exciting sport of snowboarding all winter long.

Two new Snow School programs – This season, we'll be offering snowboarding lessons for the very young (ages 3 to 5), in groups of two or three students. For older kids (ages 6 to 17), there will be the "SNOPRK les Sommets" course – a 25-day skiing or riding program for students who want to improve their snow park skills. The program, which includes a Christmas camp, will be offered at all five Sommets ski centres in the Laurentians.

Sommet Saint-Sauveur

Snow line and snow guns – Over the summer, Sommets Saint-Sauveur focused on a complete overhaul of one of its main snow lines near the Red Bird run. The new line has been buried below frost depth, which will enable a more efficient, on-demand water supply at all times. The system, which is fully automated and remotely controlled, will include 48 new snow guns known for energy efficiency. The upgrades represent an investment of $1.7 million.

Snow-grooming machine – We're adding a new vehicle to our fleet. Boasting a more eco-friendly engine, the new groomer will help us maintain the ski runs more efficiently and with a smaller environmental footprint. This is an investment of $400,000.

Ski tuning robot – Sommet Saint-Sauveur is the proud new owner of a Wintersteiger Mercury ski-tuning machine with three modules. An investment of close to $300,000, this high-tech unit will allow us to offer guests fast, cutting-edge ski maintenance. This Mercury automated service is the only one of its kind in the Lower Laurentian region.

La boîte à ski – After a successful trial run last winter, Sommet Saint-Sauveur will proceed this fall with the construction of a permanent ski shop near the L'Étoile lift. The new, heated building – an investment of $300,000 – will be dedicated to ski and snowboard rentals. The concept is designed to simplify the experience for new skiers and riders; after picking up their ski or board boots inside the main pavilion, clients will be directed outside to get their poles, skis or snowboard.

New garage – The lift maintenance crews will have a new building in which to house parts and specialized tools. A doubled surface area and relocation closer to the snow-grooming machine garage will prove very convenient for our terrain staff. An investment of $300,000.

versant Avila

New sanitary facilities – After renovating the bathrooms in the main pavilion at Sommet Saint-Sauveur last autumn, we set our sights on revamping the ones at versant Avila. When the 2018-2019 season opens, clients will enjoy the new facilities, which are similar to those at Sommet Saint-Sauveur in their contemporary, spare design.

Two new yurts – New winter tents (called yurts) were inaugurated last winter for snow tubing visitors at versant Avila. Two more yurts have been added for this year, for a total of four of these intriguing structures.
