Following its winter line of thinking, Mont Saint-Sauveur’s Water Park goes on the offensive. Supporting the non-smoking in public areas law, Mont Saint-Sauveur’s Water Park is proud to offer a smoke free water park this summer!
Visitors of the biggest water park in a mountain setting will be able to consider the water park smoke free starting June 7th. In order to welcome all visitors, smokers or non-smokers, the water park created five (5) smoking areas. In addition to those five areas, visitors will be able to smoke outside the water park, at a distance of 20 feet (6.01 meters) from public pavilions.
The five mini areas are located :
- Near the Atomic Express lift
- Near the Rivière Rouge / Rivière du Nord arrival tank
- Near the spa-pool (between the spa-pool and the winter Customer Service building)
- On number 8 group area, near the Chez Ti-Lou barbecue
- Near the wave pool
Congratulated on January 2011 by the Laurentian Public Health Director, Dr. Blandine Piquet-Gauthier, during the Semaine québécoise pour un avenir sans tabac, for its ski resort smoke free law, Mont Saint-Sauveur is proud to proceed throughout the summer season. In addition to forbiding smoking in its pavilions, the family oriented company goes further and takes the initiative to ban smoking from its lift lineups in winter and to offer a smoke free water park this summer.
In its January 20th, 2011 press release, the Laurentian’s Public Health Direction emphasized the fact that secondhand smoke concentrates toxic substances released during combustion and, while it dissolves more quickly outside, still remains extremely tenacious. All the more, according to a US study, being outdoors in a 1 meter radius of a smoker, would make a non-smoker breath in the same amount of secondhand smoke than indoors.
Concerned about its clients’ welfare, Mont Saint-Sauveur’s Water Park respects its main mission to entertain, but improves the experience by offering a healthy environment to its visitors and employees. Still a leader of the tourism and amusement industry, Mont Saint-Sauveur’s Water Park shows once again its creativity and concern for others.
For a healthy body in a healthy environment !
